Our Story and About Coach Judy

Greater Perception Services, Inc. first began when Judy returned from teaching abroad in China. She wanted to combine her life experiences as a mother, an educator, and a life coach to better help students outside the classroom walls. The acronym of the corporation, GPS, is consistent with Judy’s belief in the resourcefulness within each person that serves as an inner compass in their life’s journey. GPS, Inc. stands behind the concept of coaching of the whole person and teaching to the whole child.

With more than 20 years’ experience teaching middle and high school mathematics and serving as an educational administrator, Judy Liang has dedicated her life to educating and inspiring students, mentoring teachers, and motivating others to become life-long learners. She is a catalyst for personal growth and transformation.

Her focus on serving students from diverse backgrounds and desire to experience a broader spectrum of learning environments led her to live and work in China for three years. There, she developed a deeper understanding of the needs of students from a global perspective.

  • chaperoning American high school student trips to China,
  • running a residential summer camp for international students at Duke University,

  • private one-on-one tutoring,
  • designing and leading study groups, and

Judy is passionate about living a balanced life of purpose and conscientiousness. She has a great sense of humor and enjoys golfing, running, snowboarding, yoga, cooking, crafts, painting, and spending quality time with family and friends.

What students and parents are saying:

Dear Judy, I wanted to share with you how joyful Tibor is after each session! Not only that he returns home with a big smile on his face, he is motivated and excited to get ready for the next time with you. I felt from the first time we met that we were taking the right turn to meet his educational needs. I'm very thankful for your compassion, your patience, and desire to make a difference in each of your student life. It couldn't be the more perfect timing around Thanksgiving. We love you and look forward to building a long lasting relationship with you. Happy Thanksgiving,

Hello Ms. Liang, my name is Alejandra Martinez and I was a student of yours in San Ysidro high. I took math analysis with you my senior year of high school. The reason why I’m reaching out to you is because I simply wanted to say THANK YOU! When I met you you noticed my grades in your class and you told me that I should become an engineer. I went home that day to see what engineering was and after that I told myself I would pursue that career. It took me a while to graduate due to my immigration status in the country but I finally did. If it wasn’t for you I probably wouldn’t have looked into engineering.
